ACWWS – CAYMAN CONFERENCE FACT SHEET
WELCOME, DELEGATES! We are delighted to welcome you to the Cayman Islands for what promises to be an intellectually enriching and culturally vibrant academic gathering. Below you will find important information to help you prepare for your visit.
CONFERENCE DETAILS
- Conference Venue: University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI)
- Accommodation: Holiday Inn Resort, Grand Cayman: Approx. 15 minutes from the university with no traffic; 25 minutes during peak hours
- Conference Dates: June 12 – 14, 2025
- Conference Location: All conference presentations will take place at the UCCI campus
TRAVEL PREPARATIONS
- Climate: Expect very warm temperatures during your stay
- Pack: Lightweight, breathable, professional attire suitable for hot weather
- Essentials: Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sunhat
- Recreation: Swimsuits are encouraged for beach outings or pool use
TRANSPORTATION
- Transportation will be provided daily to the conference and back (one trip either way)
- Attendees can dial 777-7777 for taxi service or the hotel can provide other numbers
- Public transportation is not much of an option in Cayman
- Attendees are responsible for transportation to and from the airport. There is a taxi stand easily accessed once you exit the airport. Should persons want to travel back to the airport in groups for departure, the bus driver is willing to make private arrangements
ISLAND TOUR
- A cultural tour of the island is scheduled for the final day of the conference ($20 surcharge)
Includes visits to historic and cultural sites
Please indicate up to day 1 of conference if you plan to participate (approx. 35 pax)
MEALS
- Hotel: Includes daily breakfast
- Conference: Lunch provided on days 1 and 2
- Dinner: Delegates are responsible for their own dinner arrangements

- Cayman is considered one of the safest destinations in the Caribbean
- The community is warm, welcoming, and home to over 120 nationalities
CULTURAL & LOCAL EXPERIENCES
- Locally made items, artisan crafts, and books will be available for purchase throughout the conference. We encourage you to bring spending money if you wish to take home a piece of Cayman.
